The second shortcode that can be used displaying league schedules uses only a league and a season for TEAMS, not GAMES. This can simplify the shortcode incantation, but it can also limit options to organize and display leagues by division and conference. It all depends on how a site organizes its teams in its leagues.
Pac-12 2016
The first schedule shows all the Pac-12 games in the 2016 season, including non-league games. Looks just like the first schedule on the League Schedule page.

If we now try to display ONLY Pac-12 North games, this shortcode does work quite the same as the first. This display is a bit different than the last schedule on the League Schedule page because it is grabbing ALL the games for teams in the Pac-12 North that are NOT marked non-league.
